National Association of Professional Background Screeners

Why should I include Employment Credit Reports as part of my Background Screening process?

A Consumer Credit Report is virtually a necessity if an applicant will be handling or have access to cash or products that can easily be converted into cash. A credit report will not identify a thief but will identify conditions that you, as an employer, should know. A Consumer Credit Report is also a gauge of an applicant’s overall level of personal responsibility.

PeopleCheck allows you to include this vital part of the employment screening process, along with criminal and employment verifications to create a complete screening process.

An Employment Credit Report differs from a traditional credit report, in that it is tailored for use in an employment situation. For example, it does not include account numbers, nor does the "pull" count against the applicant's credit score.
